Brian, is a self-taught artist, originally mainly a watercolourist specialising in painting landscapes and the effects that atmospheric light can have on the natural environment, now brings his watercolour techniques to his paintings in oil and acrylics. This adds a fluidity and depth to these mediums that is still true and consistent.
As a full-time artist he is always experimenting with new techniques to bring his paintings to life. This can especially be seen in the use of palette knives and printer’s rollers, which brings a contemporary feel and texture to his work.
Rural landscapes, flowers, powerful seas and any other wild and natural locations are Brian’s inspiration for painting. Urban scenes also feature in his paintings, including London’s Covent Garden and street scenes, Cambridge’s Market Square, the terracotta streets of Spain and avenues created by skyscrapers in cities such as New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Brian’s paintings are part of private collections in the UK, Europe, South Africa, and also that of HRH the Princess Royal.
His work reflects his passion and his love for art and the great outdoors.
