Magdalena has always been interested in arts and crafts; she is continually experimenting with different mixed media techniques and subjects. She has developed her own unique style of painting incorporating plaster, oil, glue, glass paints, pastels, paper and gold leaf, applied with palette knives and brushes.
Magdalena’s figurative paintings exhibit her desire to find ways of representing female expression. These pieces are a unique combination of acrylic, pastels and poster colour techniques, which take inspiration from her emotional development at the time. Her flower and landscape paintings show a strong sense of texture, colour, movement and appreciation of light.
Magdalena graduated in Textiles from Cyprian Kamil Norwid College at the age of 19 in her hometown of Lublin, Poland and went on to study Painting in the nearby Maria Curie-Sklodowska University for 5 years. During this time at university and then after graduating, she worked as an artist in a small company producing numerous works that were sold all over the country. In 2005 she moved to Cambridge and started exhibiting her work almost immediately in galleries around the city. In 2009 she moved to Switzerland where she continued to develop her style and portfolio for 6 years. Magdalena now lives with her family on the coast in Northern Spain.
