Vikki was born in Cambridge, where she lived and schooled until she completed her sixth form studies, and then at the age of 18 she moved to central Scotland where she settled easily having spent many family holidays there. A keen horse rider and sportswoman, Vikki has a strong love for nature, landscape and dramatic skies. The opportunity to work at the equestrian centre of one of Scotland’s top luxury hotels was a great introduction to daily Scottish life, both with its changeable weather and consistent beauty. She studied Art at both Perth College UHI and Dundee University which gave her a greater understanding of what she could achieve and how she wanted to direct her creativity.
Vikki’s early development as an artist saw her focus on printmaking, where she was able to experiment with layering of colour and use her drawing skills to create contemporary horse designs and distinctive landscapes. Vikki has now brought this composition understanding to her paintings in acrylic and this combined with the inspiration of her beautiful surroundings leads to the creation of the striking landscapes that she paints today.
Vikki is the manager of DNG Contemporary Art, 109 High Street, Auchterarder, Perthshire.
